Effectiveness & Clinical Value
Does the ThermX actually reduce pain and swelling?
Yes. Most patients report reduced pain and swelling within days. The iceless cold therapy targets inflammation while optional compression sleeves help prevent clot formation and improve circulation.
How does this compare to other cold therapy devices?
ThermX is more precise, portable, and safer than ice-based systems. It provides consistent temperature control, adjustable compression, and integrated safety alerts—with no ice or mess to manage.

What if my patient is in a splint or cast?
ThermX wraps are flexible and splint-compatible. Our technicians work with patients to place garments either under or around immobilized areas safely.
What if we don’t need DVT support?
No problem. The DVT port is optional—ThermX can be delivered for cold/heat therapy alone.
Administrative Burden & Workflow
Will this add work for my clinic?
Not at all. RCM handles everything—from paperwork to patient education and billing.
We already use a DME vendor—why switch?
We complement your current vendors by handling logistics you might not want—like in-home delivery, setup, follow-ups, and repairs.
I already prescribe cold therapy—is this really better?
ThermX delivers superior outcomes with less hassle. It’s safer, easier to use, and improves compliance through programmable lockouts and safety alerts.
Cost, Coverage & Risk
Will this cost the patient anything?
Not usually. It’s fully covered by VA and Workers’ Compensation. Cash-pay rentals are available at $500 for 30 days if needed.
How does insurance billing work?
Right Coast Medical handles all prior authorizations and billing.
Is there a guarantee? What if it doesn’t help?
Yes. Treatment can be paused or canceled anytime if medically necessary.
Technical & Practical Questions
Is the device hard to set up?
No. We deliver and set it up in the patient’s home, walk them through use, and ensure they feel confident.
Can I sleep with the ThermX on?
Only if your physician approves. ThermX includes built-in timers and safety sensors.
What’s needed to run the device?
Just a standard power outlet. Distilled water and isopropyl alcohol are recommended.
What body parts can this treat?
ThermX is compatible with wraps for shoulders, knees, hips, backs, ankles, wrists, and more.
